Action Learning Groups

Action Learning Groups provide a proven effective way to enhance performance. They are structured groups of colleagues who come with diverse experience and knowledge, but who are committed to working mutually to engage together with one another's professional or workplace issues.

Action learning groups need a structure which links analysis, reflection, prognosis, implementation, reflection and testing in a systematic way. Members of the group should be 'colleagues in adversity' - who will respect the confidentiality of the personal experimentation and learning of each group member. They are expected to give (and receive) constructive criticism, personal support and honest feedback with the group. They create the rigour and pace of the action learning, throughout the organization, through the regularity of their meetings. From this reflective process organizations can break away from the action-fixated cycle of non learning which so bedevils many of our companies and corporations.
